In Loving Memory of Our Parents
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our parents, who made their home in Buckeye, Arizona, and whose lives were defined by hard work, strength, dedication to each other, and love for their family.
Alan Leo Wingert: August 7, 1950 - September 15, 2026
Our dad was a hardworking man who spent his working years as a butcher, concrete truck driver, and city worker before retiring. He was stoic, strong in his beliefs, and a person who believed in getting straight to the point. He wasn't one to dress things up or say more than needed, but he sure was steady, strong, and dependable. He showed his character through his actions rather than his words.
Colleen Ann Wingert: October 1,1952 - October 10, 2026
Our mom was a strong woman in her own right. She worked various jobs throughout her life, always serving others, whether it was the town store, the local restaurant or raising her children. She was a straight-to-the-point person who spoke her mind and never felt the need to sugarcoat what she had to say. You always knew where you stood with her. Beneath that honest, no-filter personality was a woman who cared deeply for her family.
Together, they enjoyed their morning coffee, watching sports, and spent many evenings in their garage visiting with family, friends and neighbors. For many years, Dad served as mom's caregiver, a commitment that speaks volumes about their dedication to each other and sense of responsibility. Their love and devotion spanned over 50 years and is something we admired and have carried into our own families.
They leave behind their three children and seven grandchildren who are part of the family and legacy they built. They came from families of their own, with siblings who shared in their lives and histories. Dad is survived by two brothers and one sister and was preceded in death by one brother. Mom is survived by two brothers and two sisters and was preceded in death by one sister. Both were also preceded in death by their parents.
Their lives were built through years of work, family responsibilities, everyday challenges, and the experiences that shaped them. Whether it was sitting down together as a family for dinner or looking up into the stands seeing dad in his work clothes, concrete covering his pants and arms crossed, with mom sitting next to him, they did everything they could to not miss those moments. Their memory lives on in their children, grandchildren, and the family connections that will continue through generations.
Although saying goodbye to both parents brings a unique kind of heartache and hurt, we carry forward the memories, the lessons, the familiar words, the stories, and the many ways they became part of who we are.
