Linda Sue Murphy

April 3, 1949 - December 4, 2021

Linda Sue Murphy, daughter of Clarence and Etta Crawford was born April 3, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa. In December of 1969 Linda married her high school sweetheart Bill Murphy. She had two daughters, Tricia and Michelle. While raising her daughters, she worked at the Glenwood Community School District for 35 years as an elementary school cook. Linda loved her children so much she moved throughout the different school buildings, as her girls grew up. Linda's daughters loved waving at her as they went through the food line. She ended her career in the elementary building and loved working around the youngsters. Linda loved reading books, you could always find her at the Glenwood Public Library checking out the latest novels. Her passions were gardening, fishing and taking care of her husband, Bill. You would never see Linda without Bill being too far behind. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dog Jack. Linda died on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Elm Crest Nursing home, surrounded by her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Bill and siblings Bev, Sharon, Judy and Jack. She is survived by her children Tricia (Bruce) Pearson of Harlan, Iowa, Michelle Grimstad of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 6 grandchildren Alex, Abby, Lindsay, Jake, Mason and Zach; other family members and friends. Services will take place at a later date.
