Shane M. Weier was born in Spencer, Iowa, December 23, 1972, the son of Cheryl Weier. He was raised in the Linn Grove and Sioux Rapids area before moving to Denison, Iowa, where he completed his formal education. Following high school Shane was employed at Farmland in Denison. In 2000 he attended Western Iowa Tech where he received his CDL from their Commercial Vehicle Operator Training. Shane was then employed as an independent driver and with Krajicek, Inc. until poor health forced his early retirement in June of 2013. He felt blessed to have had a job he truly loved. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing. The last four months of his life Shane was lovingly cared for by his mother in her home in Schleswig, Iowa, where his death occurred Saturday evening, December 14, 2013. At the time of his death he had been blessed with 40 years, 11 months and 21 days. Shane was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lloy and Jennie Weier and his step-father, Pete Coyle. Those remaining to cherish his memory include his mother, Cheryl A. Coyle of Schleswig, Iowa; two sons: Dalton Weier of Denison, Iowa, and Dawson Hansen of Manilla, Iowa; half-sister, Tracy Foxx of Sioux Rapids, Iowa; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at the Pfannebecker Funeral Home, Denison, Iowa, with Rev. Chris Burtnett officiating. Music for the service included recorded selections of “Go Rest High on That Mountain” by Vince Gill, “Like Jesus Does” by Eric Church and “Angels” by Randy Travis. Those serving as pallbearers included Dan Mathies, Jason Smith, Jake Hopp, Brian Truitt, Justin Little and Darrin Thornock. Interment was at Lone Tree Cemetery in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. The Pfannebecker Funeral Home, www.pfannebecker.com , Denison, Iowa, was in charge of arrangements where a visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2013.
