Robert "Skip" Prokupek

Robert Mark Prokupek, son of Joseph and Frances (Powers) Prokupek, was born on January 8, 1947 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was baptized and confirmed at the Assumption Catholic Church in Omaha. He attended Pleasant Hills Elementary and Indian Hills Jr. High and graduated from Omaha South High School with the class of 1965. On July 19, 1969, he was united in marriage to Gayle Thies in Omaha, Nebraska.

Skip enjoyed helping farm with his neighbors operations. He loved to remodel houses, repair and restore tractors, and hang in his fab shop with his family. He would repair anything that was broken. Skip was a Steamfitter for Local Union 464 for most of his life. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

On Monday, April 24, 2023, Skip passed away at his home having attained the age of 76 years, 3 months and 16 days. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Frances; siblings Suzanne Micek, Joseph Prokupek and James Prokupek; brother-in-law William Micheau.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years Gayle Prokupek of Avoca, Iowa; children Robert (Dianna) Prokupek of Oakland, Iowa; Andrea (Travis) Bolte of Minden, Iowa; Matthew (Shelia) Prokupek of Honey Creek, Iowa; Sarah (Matthew) Humpal of Sioux City, Iowa; 8 grandchildren: Amanda Prokupek of Oakland, Iowa; Erin (Harrison) Venteicher of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Nathaniel Bolte (Samantha Harman) of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Justin Bolte of Council Bluffs, Iowa; Samantha and Evan Prokupek of Honey Creek, Iowa; Steven and Noah Humpal of Sioux City, Iowa; siblings Joann Trecek of Omaha, Nebraska; Marcia (Lynn) Hupp of Bakersfield, California; Charles (Sheryl) Prokupek of Springfield, Nebraska; Georgia Micheau of Bakersfield, California; in-laws Joseph Micek of Omaha, Nebraska; Sharon Prokupek of Omaha, Nebraska; other family and many friends.
