Richard Lee Petersen, 74, Sioux Falls, South Dakota and formerly of Irwin, Iowa and Aurelia, Iowa passed away on March 11, 2025, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM at First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, Iowa. An interment will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Oak Hill Cemetery in Irwin, Iowa with a luncheon to follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Irwin, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, Mavis Petersen of Sioux Falls, SD; sons, Bryce Petersen, Bryan Petersen, Christopher Petersen, and Eric Petersen; sisters, Connie Davis of Des Moines, IA, Donna (Lorren) Hollister of Council Bluffs, IA; sons, Bryce Petersen, Bryan Petersen, Christopher Petersen, and Eric Petersen; other relatives and many friends.
In Lieu of flowers, Richard requested memorials be directed to June E. Nylen Cancer Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
