Ralph Heese

Ralph Henry Heese was born September 24, 1942, to Aloysius and Amelia (Threan) Heese in Harlan, Iowa. Later the family moved to the Irwin, IA area, where he was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Ralph attended Irwin-Kirkman High School, and he graduated with the class of 1960.
Within a year of graduating high school, Ralph moved to Omaha, NE to attend Universal Trade School as a mechanic. He was employed by AMC Automotive from 1967 until 1976. In addition, during this time Ralph served from 1963-1969 in the Army National Guard. Ralph was married to Linda Ryley (1967-1975), they had two children Stacy and Scott.
While still living and working in Omaha, Ralph met the love of his life JoAnn (Parmentier)Tuma. They were united in marriage on June 25, 1976. They combined their two families, Ralph with his children Stacy and Scott, and JoAnn with her children Dave and Dana Tuma. The family moved to Harlan, IA until 1993, eventually Ralph and JoAnn settled in Tennant, IA for the last 29 years. Ralph and JoAnn were fortunate to spend 47 years together, 46 of those years being married.
Ralph was employed by Harlan Builders from 1976 until he retired in 2013. He then went on to work at Clean Air Filter in Defiance, IA from 2014 until 2022. He also severed as a member of the Tennant Town Council for over 25 years.
Ralph enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. He loved to attend any school events involving his grandchildren. Activities included theater plays, football, softball, and soccer. His favorite hobbies were gardening, watching Husker Football, woodworking with his grandson's and his love for Chevrolet's.
Ralph passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022 in Omaha, Nebraska, attaining the age of seventy-nine years, eight months, twenty-seven days. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aloysius and Amelia Heese and his sister Donna Jean Murray.
He is survived by his loving wife JoAnn Heese, his children, Dave (Karen Belair) Tuma, Stacy (Christopher) Stessman, Dana (Amy) Tuma, and Scott (Becky) Heese, Fourteen grandchildren: Makenna, Skylar, Brayton, Blake, Brody, Chloe, Nick, Ian, Sawyer, Eliza, Brandon, Alex, Ashley and William. One great-grandchild: Luna and 2 on the way, his brothers: Leroy (Jeannie) Heese, Ron (Lois) Heese, and Stanley Heese, his sister-in-law Sandra Parmentier, brother-in-law Carl Parmentier and many other family and friends.
