Norma Herrell

Norma Jean (Russmann) Herrell was born to Albert and Lisle (Harris) Russmann on Aug. 24, 1929 on a farm southwest of Avoca, IA. She died at her home in Orange, CA on May 31, 2026.

Norma attended country school from age 5 through 8th grade and graduated from Avoca High School in 1946. After attending Commercial Extension in Omaha, Norma stayed with her aunt and uncle and family and was employed by Butternut Bread Company. Here she met her husband, Eddie Kennett. To this union, one son, Larry, was born. Norma later married Duane Herrell. They moved to Orange, CA where she began working for Arrowhead Corporation, where she continued working for many years.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband Duane, daughter in-law Charlotte Kennett, sisters Bonnie Willett and Carol (Hobus) Young, and brothers Richard and Gary Russmann. Survivors include one son, Larry, two stepdaughters, Linda and Connie, two sisters, Shirley Thies and Marjorie Kobs, one sister in-law, Jane (Huse) Russmann, many nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
