Mary "Joette" Peters

Mary "Joette" Peters, age 76, of Carroll, IA, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll.

Joette was born August 12, 1949, in Denison, IA. She was the daughter of the late Marietta "Etta" (Bosecker) Molony and Joe Molony. She grew up in Denison and graduated from Denison High School in 1967. After high school, she attended Cosmetology school at Stewart Hairstylists in Council Bluffs, IA and received her Cosmetology license in December 1968.

She moved back to Denison and worked various jobs including, the Play-Mor where she met a lot of wonderful people. She was married to David Peters in 1974, and they were blessed with three children, Jill, Nicole & Joe. They lived in Denison for many years and moved to Carroll in 1987 because David worked for General Electric. In Carroll, Joette worked in Receiving at Wal-Mart for many years and then in Admissions at St Anthony Regional Hospital for about 20 years, where she retired in 2023.

Joette was a lover of all animals. Over the years she had an iguana, turtles, birds, cats and dogs. She enjoyed being in her back yard where she watched the wildlife and planted many flowers. She also enjoyed playing Euchre with friends and getting together with her cousins and family. She always liked to have a good time.

Joette is survived by her husband David of Carroll, IA; three children and their families: daughter Jill Peters of Carroll, IA and her best friend Toni Marquardt of Council Bluffs, IA, Nicole Peters of Glidden, IA and Joe (Megan) Peters of Waukee, IA; 4 grandchildren, Kailey (Tyler) Bruns, Sadie Groszkrueger, Sloane Peters and Jett Peters; 2 great granddaughters, Aubrie Bruns and Chloe Bruns; and several cousins, extended family members and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Etta Molony and Joe Molony; her in-laws Lavern and Evelyn Peters; two brothers-in-laws: Mike Groth and Joe Groth and sister-in-law Patricia (Groth) Webster.
