Lonnie D. Olsen

Lonnie Dale Olsen was born on September 21, 1961 in Harlan, Iowa to Gene Allen and Marilyn Ann (Russmann) Olsen. He attended AvoHa high school and was involved in many sports activities until his graduation. He married Marie Shipley and together they had two beautiful daughters.
Lonnie worked various construction jobs before he began working maintenance at Oakland Foods. He enjoyed stock car racing in Harlan and Corley, hunting, woodworking, and golfing. He especially enjoyed his visits to the Olsen cabin in Okoboji and spending time with his daughters. He was a member of the Hancock United Methodist Church.
Lonnie died on Monday, May 6, 2103 having attained the age of fifty-one years, seven months, and fifteen days. He was preceded in death by his mother Marilyn Olsen. He is survived by his father Gene Olsen of Hancock, Iowa; his daughters Loni Olsen of Cabot, Arkansas and Jessica and her husband Julius Woolfolk of Jacksonville, Arkansas; brothers Gene Olsen, Jr. and his wife Teresa of Leon, Iowa and Ronald Olsen and his wife Debra of Hancock, Iowa; sister Sherry Harwick of Treynor, Iowa; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rev. Earlin Shanno officiated the 3:00 pm graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Hancock, Iowa on Saturday, May 11, 2013.
