Kirk Douglas Byars

Kirk Douglas Byars passed away peacefully at his home in Harlan, Iowa on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 attaining the age of 69 years and 14 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irene (Samouris) and Arnold Byars. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy Byars of Harlan, Iowa; children, Christopher Byars of Des Moines, Iowa, Mathew Byars of Des Moines, Iowa, Rachel Byars of Des Moines, Iowa, Staphanie (Josh) Peterson of West Des Moines, Iowa, Marissa Van Elsen of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; three granddaughters, Brooklyn, Olivia, and Lauren; brother, Mike (Connie) Byars of Lake Mills, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
