Joleen Bandow, was born on March 24, 1946, in Manning, Iowa, to George and Bernice (Schroeder) Justice. Joleen lived a life marked by dedication to both her profession and the people around her. Joleen’s educational journey began in Jefferson #2 grade school in Botna, Iowa, and continued through to her graduation from Manning High School. Early in her career, she worked for a couple of years at Central National Insurance before dedicating the majority of her working life to Lehan Pharmacy, where she served diligently as a Pharmacy Technician.
On April 28, 1967, Joleen was united in marriage to Herbert “Bud” Bandow at the First Presybterian Church in Manning, Iowa. To this union they were blessed with 2 daughters: Jeana and Lisa. Joleen and Bud were blessed with 59 years of marriage. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Joleen was deeply involved in her community. She held a leadership role in the Minden Community Club, contributing her time and energy to enrich the lives of those around her. She was also a proud member of the Legion Auxiliary, supporting the organization’s mission with honor. One of her personal passions was collecting Black Amethyst glass, a hobby that brought her joy and a sense of connection to the past.
A devoted pharmacy technician and cherished member of her community, Joleen passed away peacefully on May 13, 2026, in Minden, Iowa, surrounded by her loving family, having attained the age of 80 years, 1 month and 19 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Bernice (Schroder) Justice, sister Jeanette; and her brothers Keith, Lynn, and Dennis.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Bud Bandow of Minden, Iowa; her daughters Jeana Bandow of Minden, Iowa, and Lisa Bandow (Dave Stroebele) of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and her two granddaughters, Olivia and Karsyn, who undoubtedly brought light and happiness to her days. She is also survived by her siblings Roger Justice of Bentonville, Arkansas; Wayne Justice and his wife Arlene of Manning, Iowa; and Joann Bengford of Defiance, Iowa; other family and many friends.
