Jody Charles Bruck

Jody Charles Bruck was born to Velma (Buschkamp) and Gerald Burck on April 11, 1952 in Harlan, Iowa. He grew up on his family’s farm where he learned early on the value of hard work. Jody attended school in Dunlap where he graduated from Boyer Valley High School in 1971.

After graduation, Jody went on to work for Russ’s Tree Service for many years as well as at Panama Transfer. In his free time, Jody enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing, especially in the mountains in Colorado and Wyoming. He also liked playing pool and wood working.

One of Jody’s greatest accomplishments in life was becoming a father and grandfather. He raised his children in Harlan and Earling on a farm, instilling a strong work ethic in them through daily horse chores.

Jody passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2026 at CHI Health Immanuel Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska attaining the age of 73 years, 11 months, and 2 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, Velma and Gerald Bruck; daughter, April Bruck; and sisters, Michelle Slater and Karen Hill.

He is survived by his children, Joey Bruck of Shelby, IA; Sara Bruck of Harlan, IA; 7 grandchildren; siblings, Jerry (Aline) Bruck of Harlan, IA; Colleen Spinler of Papillion, NE; Vernon (Pat) Bruck of Denison, IA; Robin (Carolyn) Bruck of Denison, IA; brother-in-law Curt Slater of Defiance, IA; nieces and nephews.
