Dominique Pontzius was a woman of deep imagination, kindness, and quiet strength. She had a lifelong love of stories and worlds beyond our own, whether through the enchanting films of Miyazaki, the pages of a novel, or the games she delighted in—The Sims 3 and Stardew Valley among her favorites. She found magic in dragons and fantasy, and also in the everyday comfort of coffee, tea, and the company of those she loved most.

Dominique gave freely of her time and heart. She was the kind of person who listened without judgment, who offered comfort when it was needed most, and who always had space in her heart for others. She extended her care to animals as well, tending to her own beloved cats and looking after the strays that found their way to her.

Family was at the center of Dominique’s life. She shared a special bond with her sons, Sebastian and Ian, and with her mother, Rena, whom she supported with love and devotion. She adored her grandchildren—her “peanut and sprout”—and found joy in their laughter, their energy, and the promise of their future.

Dominique leaves behind a legacy of compassion, creativity, and connection. Those who knew her will remember her not only for her interests and passions, but for the gentle, generous way she showed up in the lives of others. Her memory will continue to live on in the stories we tell, the love we share, and the small, everyday moments that reminded us of her presence.
