Diana Lou Maulsby, a beloved figure in her community and family, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, at Accura Healthcare in Carroll, Iowa, at the age of 73. Born on July 12, 1951, in Carroll, Iowa, she lived a life that was rich with love, warmth, and a vibrant spirit that touched all who knew her.
Diana was a dedicated professional who excelled in her career, starting as a cosmetologist and later serving as a support coordinator for WESCO. Her passion for her work was evident, and she cherished the relationships she built with her clients in Denison and Sac City. Diana's loving, caring, and outgoing personality made her not only a talented beautician but also a confidante and friend to many.
Education was important to Diana, who graduated from Denison High School before obtaining her cosmetology license. This foundation set her on a path to a fulfilling career that allowed her to express her creativity while making others feel beautiful inside and out.
Diana was a true family woman, whose proudest accomplishments included her unwavering love for her children, Debbie, Tricia, Matthew, Mandy and her grandchildren: Ty, Tanner, Luke, Oliver, Hazel, Joy and her siblings, Donna Sonnichsen, Lori Magnuson, Dorothy Popp, and Dale Lilleholm. Her enthusiasm for life extended beyond her immediate family to include many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Diana's home was always filled with laughter, joy, and creativity, whether through knitting, crafting, or simply enjoying precious moments with family.
Diana had a lifelong love for horses and a deep connection to country life. While raising her daughters, she was actively involved in the local 4-H community. Whether it was helping prepare for shows, trail rides, or cheering them on during competitions, Diana was always by their side.
A devoted fan of Caitlin Clark, Diana delighted in attending concerts, fairs, car shows, and trade shows. Her zest for life was infectious, and she could often be found sharing her happiness and enthusiasm with friends and family.
Diana is survived by her children, Matthew Maulsby and Mandy Anderson; sisters, Donna (Donavon) Sonnichsen of Denison, Lori (Steve) Magnuson of Denison, Dorothy (Lonny) Popp of Denison, grandchildren, Ty, Tanner, Luke, Oliver, Hazel, and Joy, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews also survive.
She was a woman who carried immense grief, having experienced heartbreaking losses over the years. She was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Betty Lou and Donald Lilleholm; her first husband, David Littleton; her second husband, Mark Maulsby; her beloved daughters, Debbie Littleton and Tricia Littleton; and her brother, Dale Lilleholm.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on June 28, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, located at 102 Morris Street in Vail, Iowa. A Mass of Christian Burial service will follow at 10:30 AM, After the services, the family warmly invites all to gather for a meal at St. Rose of Lima Parrish Center in Denison, as a time to share memories and continue honoring Diana’s life together. Diana will be laid to rest at Crawford Heights Memorial Cemetery in Denison.
