David Arnold Pullen, son of Virgil and Carol (Hollander) Pullen, was born on March 13, 1956, at the Bellevue Hospital in Muscantine County, Iowa. His family moved to Denison, Iowa, where he attended Denison Community School until the 8th grade. He later received his GED and attended college for a year taking business classes.
David worked for Fellers Roofing for many years before opening Diamond Taxi in 2002 where he would serve the Denison Community until retiring from the business in 2017.
David was a motorhead and loved hotrods. His favorite being the 1970 GTX. He had a 1967 Chevelle that he was working on with his sons and daughter, Melanie before her passing. David spent a lot of time taking care of Melanie as she battled cancer. He would do anything for his daughter while also keeping his sons’ spirits high by taking them to NASCAR races and car shows. One big car show he looked forward to attending with his children each year was O’Reilly’s World of Wheels car show in Omaha, followed by a meal at the Golden Corral. Along with cars, David enjoyed good music, a cold one, and fun times with family and friends.
He passed away Friday, December 12, 2025 at Denison Care Center in Denison, attaining the age of sixty-nine years, eight months, and twenty-nine days. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Melanie Pullen, and brother Norman Pullen.
He is survived by his long-time significant other, Linda Nelson; children, Curt (Jessica) Pullen of Brayton, Iowa; Sam Pullen (Lexas Petersen) of Denison, Iowa; Justin (Dawn) Bigley of Cherokee, Iowa; Amber Nelson; four grandchildren, Harper Pullen, Hendrick Pullen, Camdon Spitzenberger, Noah Meeves; siblings Sherry Namanny of Denison, Iowa; Terry Pullen of Deloit, Iowa; other family members and friends.
