Daniel Allan Schimerowski was born on June 24, 1989 to Michael and Deb (Springman) Schimerowski in Davenport, Iowa. He was baptized at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Long Grove, Iowa, attended Neil Armstrong Elementary School in Park View, Iowa, and graduated from Clinton High School with the Class of 2008. In 2012, he graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree from the Psychology program at the University of Northern Iowa.
During high school, Daniel worked at Target and as a repite care provider at New Choices. He was a volunteer with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and had currently been studying to be an Emergency Medical Technician through Clinton Community College.
Music was a big part of Daniel’s life; he listened to all different kinds of music and played his guitar. He enjoyed walking along the Mississippi River, fishing, and hanging out with his friends. He had attained his black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Daniel died at his home in Clinton, Iowa, on Monday, November 23, 2015 at the age of twenty-six years, four months, and thirty days. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Lavonne Springman and paternal grandparents: James Schimerowski, Joyce MacAllister, and Tom Bertoncella.
He is survived by his mother Deb Schimerowski and her husband Craig Wehr of Park View, Iowa; father Mike Schimerowski and his wife Lee Bertoncella of Earling, Iowa; sisters: Sarah Schimerowski and her boyfriend Jeff Ryland of Clinton, Iowa, Nicole Schimerowski and her fiancé Evan Miller of Ames, Iowa, and Katie Schimerowski of Park View, Iowa; his devoted friend Dru Redler of Maquoketa, Iowa; maternal grandfather Nick Springman of Portsmouth, Iowa; paternal grandmother Mary Lou Schimerowski of Earling, Iowa; other family members and many friends.
