Barbara Jean Sorensen, 85, formerly of Corley, Iowa died on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn, Iowa. Barb was born to John and Johanna (Andersen) Madsen on June 29, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois. She was married to Christian Peter Sorensen.
She is survived by her children, Ann Hammer of Harlan, IA; John (Shannon) Sorensen of Denver, CO; Karen Sorensen of Harlan, IA; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; special niece, Mary Claire Heller of Green Valley, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Chris Sorensen, and sisters, Claire Schwartz and Ann Ramson.
Barb’s wishes were to be cremated, her services will take place at a later date.
