April Dawn Bruck

April Dawn Bruck was born on September 27, 1979, in Harlan, Iowa, to Jody Bruck and Melody A. Sabin. She grew up in Earling, Iowa, where she attended Harlan Community Schools and thrived in Special Olympics where she received many awards and medals. April was baptized at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she began her journey of faith and community.

Throughout her life, April was known for her strong work ethic and dedication to helping others. She held many positions in the retail and restaurant industry, but she found her most rewarding work during her time with Subway in Audubon. Her career in food preparation allowed her to connect with people every day, serving them with kindness and a welcoming smile.

Outside of work, April valued her family, friends, and community. She was proud of the experiences she gained through her various jobs, each shaping her character and giving her opportunities to grow both personally and professionally.

April passed away peacefully at Elm Crest Assisted Living Facility in Harlan, Iowa on Saturday, September 6, 2025 attaining the age of 45 years, 11 months and 10 days. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gerald and Velma Bruck; aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her children, Tucker Knutsen of Bancroft, NE; Walker Sturtevant of Manning, IA; Orianna Blackburn of Manning, IA; parents, Jody Bruck of Earling, IA; Melody Sabin Caneva of DuValls Bluff, AR; siblings, Joey Bruck (Becky Ring) of Shelby, IA; Sara Bruck (Ty Jenkins) of Harlan, IA.
