Albert Wilhelm Hoepner was born on February 8, 1943, to John and Myrtle Mae (Petty) Hoepner in Atlantic, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at the Atlantic Lutheran Church and graduated from AvoHa Community Schools in 1961. After graduation, Albert joined the army, serving for two years operating heavy equipment and was stationed in Okinawa.
On November 12, 1967, Albert married Donna Rozell at the Akron Lutheran Church in Akron, Iowa. Together, they raised two sons, Shane and Devin. He was a proud grandfather of four grandchildren, Ethan, Aletha, Logan, and Holly.
Upon returning home, Albert worked in maintenance for Land O' Lakes and then OSI until his retirement in 2019. He was known for his hard work and dedication to his job. In his free time, Albert enjoyed antique tractors and tractor rides.
Albert passed away on August 4, 2023, at the age of 80 years, 5 months, and 27 days, at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife Donna. He will be deeply missed by his family; sons Shane (Laurie) Hoepner of Hancock, Iowa; Devin (Teresa) Hoepner of Avoca, Iowa; 4 grandchildren: Ethan Hoepner (Maddie Lair) of Oakland, Iowa; Aletha Hoepner (Braeton Moore) of Oakland, Iowa; Logan (Holly) Hoepner of Tecumseh, Nebraska; Holly Hoepner of Miles City, Montana; other family and many friends.
