Kimberly Jene Carrier

Kimberly Jene Carrier daughter of Mary Ann (Porter) Trierweiler and Gerry Dean Ballantyne, Sr. was born July 15, 1970 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She was baptized in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hinsdale, Massachusetts. Kimberly attended the Harlan Community Schools. She started nursing school at Iowa Western Community College in Harlan, Iowa. Kimberly married Travis Carrier April 22, 1989 in Harlan. Kimberly loved being a mother and had her children early in life. Kimberly had many friends in Harlan always opening up her house at all hours of the night for friends needing a place to stay. She worked at Subs & Suds, Country Care Center, Variety Distributing and Dairy Queen. Kimberly enjoyed reading, watching movies, and many different crafts that ended in unintentional Christmas presents. She enjoyed talking no matter the topic she always had her opinion. She also enjoyed just hanging around the house with her husband and children. Kimberly passed away February 27, 2022 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, having reached the age of 51 years 7 months and 12 days surrounded by loved ones. She is preceded in death by her father Gerry Ballantyne, Sr.; paternal grandparents Gene (Mickey) Ballantyne Sr.; maternal grandparents Thomas (Alice) Porter; a grandson Keegan Carrier; and her mother-in-law Cheryl Carrier. Kimberly is survived by her husband Travis Carrier, and her son Jeremy and daughter Whitney Carrier all of Harlan, Iowa; her mother Mary Ann (Porter) Trierweiler of Harlan, Iowa; her brothers Gerry (Kim) Ballantyne, Jr of Harlan, Iowa; Ricky Ballantyne (Kortnie Bradley) of Harlan, Iowa; Caleb Ballantyne of Urbandale, Iowa and sister Georgia (Charles) Conner of Topeka, Kansas. Many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
