Mildred England - Age 89
Mildred Jane
England, daughter of James D. And Mary (Robertson) Shaw, was born on July
12, 1917 in Warsaw, Missouri. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in
Harlan, Iowa, since 1989
She was
introduced to Wayne Valentine England by her brother Donald in Red Oak,
Iowa, then later moved to California. On June 14, 1935, Mildred was united
in marriage to Wayne in Sebastapol, California. Three children were born to
this union: Raymond, Joyce, and Candace.
After
their marriage, Mildred and Wayne lived in California before returning to
Red Oak in 1937. In 1951, they moved to Harlan where she was a homemaker.
Mildred loved to garden and made the best fried chicken in Iowa. She was a
member of Bethel Baptist Church in Harlan and taught Sunday school to the
church kids.
Mildred
enjoyed playing the harmonica and often played for church programs. When she
was not busy with church activities or in her garden, Mildred enjoyed making
bread and fishing in Okoboji every year at the same location. In June 1985,
Mildred and Wayne celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Mildred died
on May 26, 2007, at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa, having attained
the age of eighty-nine years, ten months, and fourteen days. She is preceded
in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne England; her son, Raymond; four
brothers: Donald, Delbert, Gordon, and Albert; and one sister, Lucille.
She is
survived by her two daughters: Joyce Maidment of Lebanon, Missouri; and
Candace Perry of Harlan, Iowa; eleven grandchildren; twelve great
grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other
family members, and many friends.
Funeral
Services were held on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in
Harlan, Iowa. Rev. Walter Bowen officiated the 2:00 PM ceremony. Clark Ford
was an honorary casket bearer. Serving as casket bearers were Dustin Buck,
Johnathan Ford, Pete Weber, Jim Thielen, James Maidment, and Kevin Perry.
Interment was held at the Harlan Cemetery in Harlan, Iowa.
Dennis "Denny"
Erb - Age 60
Dennis "Denny" Lee,
son of Allyn C and Thelma E. (Wetzel) Erb, was
born on August 27, 1947 in Irwin, Iowa. He was
baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist
Church in Irwin and graduated from the
Irwin-Kirkman High School in 1965. He entered
the United States Navy in 1965 and served during
the Vietnam Conflict as an A-7 Corsair simulator
instructor.
On June 13, 1970, Denny was united in marriage
to Judy Werner in Carroll, Iowa. Three children
were born to this union: Jason, Nathan and
Jamie. After their marriage, they lived in Ames
where Denny attended Iowa State University for
two years. They lived in Manning before moving
to a farm east of Irwin in 1972 where he raised
hogs, cattle, beans and corn for over 30 years.
During his farming years he was a salesman for
Asgrow Seeds and for Archer Petroleum Products
where he was currently the Shelby County
Manager. He was a licensed real estate agent for
Knueven R. E. & Insurance in Manning and for the
past several years had been employed at Puck
Custom Enterprises in Manning. He was a member
of the IKM School Board where he was in his
third term currently serving as board Vice
President.
Denny was also involved with the Mid-America
Council Boy Scouts of America volunteering for
over twenty-five years mainly with IKM Troop 99,
Ohwahnasee District and Camp Cedars. In 1994, he
was named a National Scoutmaster of the year.
Denny was an active member of the American
Legion Post No. 22 of Manning having served as
their Commander. In his younger days, he enjoyed
playing softball with the Kirkman team and rugby
with the Harlan team. He was an avid deer hunter
and enjoyed showing his 1969 Z28 Camaro in auto
shows. One of his lifelong dreams was to build
his own house, which he completed in February,
2004 so he and his family could move in and
enjoy.
In March 2006, Denny was diagnosed with brain
cancer. He looked forward to the future and was
never willing to gibe in, always working and
spending time with his family and friends as
much as he could. On April 28, Denny became a
resident of Hospice House in Omaha where he
passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2008 having
attained the age of sixty years, eight months
and eleven days.
Preceding Denny in death are his parents; son
Nathan in infancy; brother Gary; sister Gloria
Huff and parents-in-law Wilbur and Dorothy
Werner. He is survived by his wife Judy of
Irwin; children Jason (Chanie) Erb of Enid, OK;
Jamie Erb of Omaha; one grandson Bodey Erb of
Enid; siblings: Sharon (Richard) Monson of
Harlan; Diana (Bill) Barton of Omaha; Roger
(Carol) Erb of Harlan; stepmother Leona Erb of
Harlan; stepsister Linda (Dennis) Wildner of
Omaha; stepbrother Tom (Cheryl) Ferry of Harlan;
sister-in-law Myrna (Bernie) Gundel of
Fontanelle, IA; and brothers-in-law Dan Huff of
Lindsay, CA and Jim Werner of Marshalltown, IA;
nieces, nephews; other relatives and many
friends.
Funeral Services were held on Monday, May 12 at
Irwin United Methodist Church in Irwin, Iowa.
Rev. Keith Pals officiated the 11:00 AM service
with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Irwin.
Serving as casket bearers were: Ben Puck, Rex
Gochenour, Greg Hansen, Randy Halbur, Gary
Odendahl, Denny Deters, Gary Knueven, and
Charles Hansen.

Johnnie J. Erlbacher- Age 84
Johnnie J. Erlbacher was born on March 16, 1922, to John and Rose
(Wilwerding) Erlbacher in Earling, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at
St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling and remained a member there
throughout his life. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Earling
through the eighth grade.
After his schooling, he began farming in the Earling area. Johnnie farmed
for his entire life. During his marriage, he was blessed with three sons:
Dale, Glen, and Russ and a daughter, Donna Jean.
Johnnie enjoyed his family and his friends and spent time doing various
activities with them. He especially enjoyed playing euchre with his family
and friends. He became a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council Number
1741 in Earling, Iowa.
Johnnie moved to the Little Flower Haven Nursing Home in Earling and it was
there that he died on February 8, 2007, having attained the age of
eighty-four years, ten months, and twenty-three days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rose Erlbacher, his
daughter, Donna Jean Erlbacher, his brothers and sisters: Jacob Erlbacher,
Elmer Erlbacher, LeVerne Erlbacher, Marie Stolz, Leonard "Wimpy" Erlbacher,
and Pat Malone.
Johnnie is survived by his three sons: Dale and his wife Donna Erlbacher of
Denison, Iowa, Glen and his wife Joyce Erlbacher of West Palm Beach,
Florida, and Russ Erlbacher also of West Palm Beach, Florida; four
grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; his sisters: Irene Kenkel of Harlan,
Iowa, Rita Briggs of Audubon, Iowa, and Ella Mae Darnell of Elgin, Illinois;
his companion Therese Scheuring of Defiance, Iowa; nieces and nephews, other
family members, and many friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 10:00 AM
at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling, Iowa with Rev Michael Berner as
the Celebrant. Serving as casket bearers were Ed Erlbacher, Cody Erlbacher,
Charles Erlbacher, Tim Erlbacher, Donnie Assmann and Dean Erlbacher.
Interment was held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Earling, Iowa.
Leonard E. "Wimpy" Erlbacher - Age 95
Leonard Elmo
Erlbacher, better known to everyone as "Wimpy", was born on February 21,
1911 to John and Rose (Wilwerding) Erlbacher in Earling, Iowa. He was
baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling and
remained a member of the church throughout his entire life.
Leonard was
united in marriage to Magdalen Freund on September 24, 1935 at St. Joseph’s.
Eight children were born to this union: Elaine, Jan, Phyllis, Gerald, Marie,
Allan, Charles, and Dean. The Erlbacher’s made their home and raised their
children on a farm outside of Earling, Iowa. Wimpy farmed and did
farm-to-market trucking until his retirement in 1977.
His passion was
fishing and that remained his favorite hobby until 1997, when he became a
resident of the Little Flower Haven nursing home in Earling, Iowa. He lived
at Little Flower until his death on Wednesday, October 25, 2006. Wimpy had
attained the age of ninety-five years, eight months, and four days. In
addition to his parents, Wimpy was preceded in death by his wife Magdalen;
his son Gerald; his brothers: Jake, Elmer, and Laverne; and his sisters
Marie and Patricia.
Wimpy is survived
by his children: Elaine and her husband James Barrett, Jan and her husband
Frank Duffy, and Phyllis Roberts, all of Omaha, Nebraska, Marie and her
husband Dennis Kenkel of Earling, Iowa, Allan "Tim" Erlbacher and his wife
Jane of Defiance, Iowa, Charles Erlbacher and his wife Doris of Dow City,
Iowa, and Dean Erlbacher and his wife Dana of Defiance, Iowa; brother and
sisters: Ella Mae Darnell of Elgin, Illinois, Irene Kenkel of Harlan, Iowa,
Rita Briggs of Audubon, Iowa, and John Erlbacher of Earling, Iowa; seventy
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, other
family, and friends.
A Mass of
Christian Burial was held on Saturday, October 28, 2006, at 11:00 AM at St.
Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling, Iowa, with the Rev. Tom Coenen
officiating. Internment was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Earling, Iowa, with
Mike Erlbacher, Joe Erlbacher, Doug Erlbacher, Brian Kenkel, Jeff Erlbacher,
and Patrick Erlbacher serving as casket bearers.
Richard "Dick" Erlbacher -
Age 69
Richard Joseph Erlbacher, son of
Leonard J. and Valeria M. (Koesters) Erlbacher, was born on October 25,
1936, in Earling, Iowa. Richard was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s
Catholic Church and attended the St. Joseph’s Catholic School in
Earling
graduating with the class of 1954. After high school, Richard served his
country in the National Guard and later helped take care of his father and
uncle while they were ill.
On September 8, 1973, Dick was
united in marriage to Pamela Jean Petersen at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church
in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Three beautiful girls were born to this union:
Amy, Erin, and Erica. Richard was a very loving and protective father. After
their marriage, Richard farmed on the family farm until illness led to his
retirement. He had a great sense of humor and a positive attitude about
everything and everyone. Even after twenty years of illness, he never
complained. He was a dedicated husband and loving father who took great
pride in his grandchildren.
Dick became a resident of Little
Flower Haven in Earling, Iowa, in August of 2003 and lived there until his
death at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan, Iowa, on Friday, October 6, 2006,
attaining the age of sixty-nine years, eleven months, and eleven days. He
was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Valeria Erlbacher.
Richard is survived by his wife
of thirty-three years, Pamela Erlbacher of Earling, Iowa, his daughters: Amy
and her husband Tony Cavenaugh and their son Xavier of Harlan, Iowa, Erin
and her husband Joshua Peterson and their children, Jace, Ellie, and Jett,
of Avoca, Iowa, and Erica and her husband Randy Buck and their children,
Brayden and Halle, of Maryville, Missouri; his sisters: Mick and her husband
Al Graeve of Earling, Grace Heese of Earling; Joanne and her husband Dennis
Kohles of Earling; his brothers: Don Erlbacher and his wife Mary of Omaha,
Nebraska, Bill Erlbacher and his wife Joanie of Earling; nieces and nephews,
other relatives, and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was
concelebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 9, 2006, by Rev. Tom Coenen
and Rev. Michael Berner at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Earling.
Internment was held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery with Xavier Cavenaugh, Joshua
Peterson, Tony Cavenaugh, Jett Peterson, Jace Peterson, Ellie Peterson,

John R. Erickson - Age 71
John
Richard Erickson, the son of Floyd Byron and Lucille Frances Erickson, was
born on September 9, 1934, in Harlan, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at
the First United Methodist Church in Harlan, Iowa. John attended country
school at Lincoln No. 8 through the eighth grade and graduated from the
Harlan Community High School in Harlan.
On January 6, 1957, John was
united in marriage to Verna Mae Nelson at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in
Irwin, Iowa. Three children were born to this union: Michael, Jill, and
infant son. After their marriage, John and Verna farmed in Shelby County,
Iowa. John continued his employment with the United States Postal Service as
a clerk and city route and rural route carrier. He took great pride in
serving his patrons for over forty years, retiring in 1997.
John was a member of the Immanuel
Lutheran Church in Harlan, Iowa. His first love was his family and his
second was farming. John enjoyed attending the Shelby County Fair, Jaycees,
Shelby County Speedway races, and his grandchildren’s events. He also
enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
On Friday, October 7, 2005, John
died at his home in Harlan, Iowa, having attained the age of seventy-one
years and twenty-eight days. In addition to his father, John was preceded in
death by his infant son and his brother, Dale Erickson.
Survivors include his wife, Verna
Erickson of Harlan, Iowa; his children: Michael Erickson and his special
friend, Juanita Holaday of Elk Horn, Iowa; Jill and her husband, David Pappa
of Sawyer, Michigan; his mother, Lucille Erickson of Harlan, Iowa; three
grandchildren: Dan Erickson of Harlan, Iowa; Jana Erickson of Harlan, Iowa;
and Jacquilyn Erickson of Harlan, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held on
Tuesday, October 11, 2005, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan, Iowa,
at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Heather Ploen officiating. Interment was in the
Harlan Cemetery in Harlan, Iowa, with Jana Erickson, Jacquilyn Erickson,
David Pappa, Carol Walso, Juanita Holaday, and Norman Walso serving as
honorary casket bearers. Serving as casket bearers were Bob Brue, Roger
Erickson, Jeff Nelson, Scott Nelson, Daniel Erickson, and Erwin Erickson.
Lucille F. Erickson - Age 96
Lucille Frances Erickson, the
daughter of William and Edna Simmerman Hendersen, was born on May 16, 1910,
at Watertown, South Dakota. She attended school at South Dakota, Nebraska,
and graduated from Manilla High School in Manilla, Iowa.
On March 15, 1930, Lucille was
united in marriage to Floyd B. Erickson at the United Methodist Church
Parsonage in Atlantic, Iowa. Two sons were born to this union: Dale and
John. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Shelby County, Iowa, living
most of their married life on a farm west of Harlan, Iowa. While Floyd
worked the fields, Lucille kept the books, ran for parts repair to Avoca,
Omaha, or anywhere else the part could be found. Floyd died on January 6,
2000.
Lucille spent many hours
quilting, crocheting, knitting and baking pies. She enjoyed cooking meals
for all of the farm help and playing chicken scratch with her family and
friends. Lucille was a member of SI Club, CC Club, the Builders Club of the
First United Methodist Church, Sunday School Class, and was the needle work
department coordinator at the Shelby County Fair. She was inducted into the
Shelby County Fair Hall of Fame in 1989.
Lucille died Friday, May 19,
2006, at her home in Harlan, Iowa, having attained the age of ninety-six
years, and three days. In addition to her parents, and her husband, Floyd,
Lucille was preceded in death by her sons, Dale Erickson and his wife, Betty
and John Erickson.
Survivors include her five
grandchildren Erwin Erickson and his wife, Betty of Ames, Iowa; Roger
Erickson and his wife, Jane of Harlan, Iowa; Norma Mertz and her friend Mark
of Red Oak, Iowa; Michael Erickson and his friend, Juanita of Elk Horn,
Iowa; Jill and her husband, David Pappa of New Carlisle, Indiana; ten
great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Verna Erickson of Harlan, Iowa;
sister, Evelyn Agan of Fort Morgan, Colorado; other relatives and many
friends.
Funeral service were held on
Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan, Iowa, at
10:30 A.M. with Rev. David Swinton officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill
Cemetery in Kirkman, Iowa, with Dan Erickson, Matthew Erickson, David Mertz,
Roger Erickson, Mike Erickson, Erwin Erickson, Allan Erickson, and David
Pappa serving as casket bearers.
George W. Ernst - Age 77
George
William Ernst was born on August 10, 1929, to George and Matilda (Reis)
Ernst in Bellevue, Iowa. He was
baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue. George
attended and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in 1947 where he
played basketball. As a young adult, George was a proud member of the
Bellevue Braves baseball team.
George
was united in marriage on May 3, 1952, to Joanne Daniels in the Chapel at
the Marine Corp Recruit Depot in San Diego, California. Five children were
born to this union: Timothy, Georgiann, Brenda, Thomas, and Brian.
After
high school, George went to work for the John Deere Tractor Works in
Dubuque. George left this to work with his father in the concrete
contracting business. Because of the seasonal nature of this work, George
found winter-time work as a brush cutter for the local telephone company.
43-years later George retired from this same company as an Area Manager in
Harlan. George often referred to this as a very long winter.
George’s
career with the telephone company was interrupted when he was drafted into
the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953.
During his duty, George achieved the rank of Sergeant. George served the
Marines as an installer repairman for the base telephone system at Camp Lejeune North Carolina. Following Honorable Discharge from the Marines,
George and Joanne returned to Bellevue to begin their family life.
George
continued his work with the telephone company in Bellevue until accepting a
transfer to Avoca, Iowa in 1963. In 1969 George was transferred to Harlan
where he worked until his retirement in January 1991. During his career with
the telephone company George held the position of brush cutter, construction
foreman, installation repairman, supervisor and area manager. George was
very proud of his long career with the telephone company and was an
inspiration to his three sons who have also pursued careers in the
electrical and electronics industries.
During his
life, George has been a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue,
St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Avoca and St. Michael’s Catholic Church in
Harlan, where he was an usher and recently sang in the Latin Mass Choir.
George’s hobbies
included woodworking, leather crafting, coaching Little League baseball, and
watching his children and grandchildren in their various activities. George
was an active member of the American Legion. George had also been a member
of the Kiwanas Club in Harlan.
George died on
Sunday July 22, 2007at Myrtue Memorial Hospital having attained the age of
seventy-seven years, eleven months and twelve days. He is survived by his
wife of fifty-five years Joanne Ernst of Harlan, Iowa; his children: Timothy
Ernst and his wife Jana of Carlisle, Iowa, Georgiann and her husband Robin
Andersen of Minden, Iowa, Brenda and her husband William Arkfeld of
Portsmouth, Iowa, Thomas Ernst and his wife Nancy of Lincoln, Nebraska and
Brian Ernst and his wife Theresa of Papillion, Nebraska; thirteen
grandchildren; his brother Eugene Ernst of Bellevue, Iowa; his sisters:
Rosalyn Hill, Elizabeth and her husband Fred Stoecken, Loella Carter, and
Bonnie and her husband Bob Blake all of Bellevue, Iowa, nieces, nephews,
other family members and friends.
A Mass of
Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, July 25, 2007, with Rev. John Dorton
conducting the 10:30 AM service at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Harlan,
Iowa. Honorary casket bearers were Thomas D. Ernst, Haylee Ernst, and
Braydon Ernst. Serving as casket bearers were Robin Andersen, Joshua Obrecht,
William Arkfeld, Timothy Ernst, Brian Ernst, Jeremy Ernst, Daniel Ernst, and
Thomas Ernst. Interment was held at the Harlan Cemetery in Harlan.
Raymond "Ray" T. Errett - Age 80
Raymond "Ray" Taylor Errett, the son of Hallie
and Anna Marie Dorthea (Jacobsen) Errett, was born on April 19, 1925 on a
farm south east of Corley, Iowa. He attended country school and later Harlan
Community Schools. He was a member of the graduating class of 1942 from
Harlan Community High School in Harlan, Iowa. Upon graduation, Ray attended
Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, for a short time then returned to
Shelby County to farm.
On August 10, 1948, Ray
was united in marriage to Dorothy Hansen at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in
Harlan, Iowa. To this union, three children were born: Duane, Candace, and
Darla. After their marriage, Ray and Dorothy farmed, retiring in 1990, but
continuing to help on the farm until this year. After Dorothy died on
October 14, 1999, Ray continued to live on the farm.
Ray was a member of the
Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan where he was also active holding several
church offices, was a township trustee, Shelby County Historical Society
Co-Chairman, and was on the Shelby County Waste Management Board for several
years. He was also a Grand Marshall for the Tiny Lund Festival Parade. Ray
enjoyed racing and building race cars. He loved tractors and had a 1953
Sheppard Diesel Tractor that he showed at local fairs and at Carsten’s Farm
Days in Shelby, Iowa, as well as the Greenridge Farm Show at Irwin, Iowa. He
enjoyed operating a Ham radio with the call letters, "KØEFQ." Ray had a
session every evening, listening to other operators and he also used his Ham
radio assisting with the Audubon flood of 1958. Ray liked Polka music and
often attended Polka Days at the Veteran’s Memorial Building in Harlan.
Ray died Saturday, July
9, 2005, at his home in rural Harlan, Iowa, having attained the age of
eighty years, two months and twenty days. He was preceded in death by his
parents and his wife, Dorothy. Survivors include his children: Duane Errett
and his wife, Vickie of Harlan, Iowa; Candace Errett of Crown Point,
Indiana; Darla and her husband, Ron Mullenger of Hamlin, Iowa; four
grandchildren: Amanda and her husband, Bryan Vaughn of Minneapolis,
Minnesota; Jessica Errett of Omaha, Nebraska; Travis Mullenger of Hamlin,
Iowa; Bonnie Errett of Harlan, Iowa; special friend, Darlene Andersen of
Harlan, Iowa; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were
held on Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at 11:00 A.M. at the Immanuel Lutheran
Church in Harlan, Iowa, with Rev. Mark Jamison officiating. Interment was in
the Harlan Cemetery in Harlan, Iowa, with Bert Hillers, Don Holdsworth,
Bruce Heilesen, Ron Rosmann, Steve Mathiasen and Bob Christensen.

Jan (Ehlers) Evans - Age 41
Janette Joy Ehlers Evans was born on December 9,
1963 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was the daughter of Donald and Madeline
Coontz Ehlers and was the youngest of six children in her family. Jan grew
up on the family farm in Harrison County, Iowa and attended the
Shelby-Tennant schools. She was baptized a the Minden Congregational Church
in Minden, Iowa.
In 1975, Jan moved to
Harrison, Arkansas with her mother and a year later, they were joined by her
father. Because of Cystic Fibrosis disease, Jan found it easier to breathe
where there was less pollen and dust. Jan was able to achieve her
educational requirements and later received her G. E. D. She and her parents
moved to Springfield, Missouri to be near a doctor who specialized in C.F.
While living in Springfield, Jan met and married Kerry Evans. They lived in
several areas of the country which had better climates to accommodate her
illness.
Jan moved to San Diego,
California to live for a short time. In January of 2003, she moved back to
Minden, Iowa to be with her father who was ill. It was during her time back
in Iowa that Jan renewed an old childhood friendship and later became
engaged to Gregg Marshall. She applied for a double lung transplant and was
accepted on the list of candidates and in April of 2004, Jan moved to St.
Louis, Missouri to await the transplant. She lived there for eight months
but a bacterial infection kept her from receiving the transplant. In
December of 2004, Jan returned to live in rural Shelby, Iowa and in January
of this year was admitted to Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska
where she lived until the time of her death.
Jan had a very
dedicated fiancé, family, friends and hospital staff who helped her through
the difficult months and years of her life. She had recently qualified and
was listed for a double lung transplant at Fairview Hospital in Minnesota,
and just before her death she achieved #1 status on the listing. Jan died on
Thursday, May 12, 2005 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska
having attained the age of forty one years, five months and three days. She
is preceded in death by her father, Donald.
Jan is survived by her
mother, Madeline Ehlers of Council Bluffs, Iowa; her fiancé, Gregg Marshall
of Shelby, Iowa; brother, Larry Ehlers and his wife Dianne of Persia, Iowa;
four sisters: Donna Jahn of Springfield, Missouri, Peg McCool and her
husband Eugene of Shelby, Iowa, LaRee See and her husband Randy of Harrison,
Arkansas and Sandy Schnoor and her husband Ron of Manilla, Iowa; nieces,
nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
